One of the known methods of designing engraved name tags is silk-screen printing. It is a printing technique that utilizes woven mesh and a stencil. The mesh is used as an ink-blocking medium. Company brands, logo and tag lines are already outlined in the woven mesh and the ink will be forced into the open, printable areas. This technique is also referred as serigraphy. Compared to digital printing, silk-screen printing is not mechanical. It is more labor-intensive and time consuming since it is done manually. Though this method is not automated, quality silk screen printing can meet even the most exacting specifications. For decades, techniques in silk-screen printing have been applied crafting designs and labels that are supplied in single or multiple colors. Moreover, materials used in silk-screen printing are obviously cheaper than in thermal or hot stamping. More innovations on decorating name tags have been discovered but the traditional silk-screen printing can still be used applied as long as it can cope with the demands of consumers.
